Seven strands each made of 19 wires. Very flexible. In the past, 7×19 was used for running rigging applications such as halyards. On many boats this wire running rigging has been replaced with rope. Today, 7×19 is used wherever strength, flexibility and chafe resistance is needed, such as for pennants and hoisting bridles.
